Project #1- Water-Recycling Shower:
Global fresh water supplies are decreasing at alarming rates. The average household uses over 10,000 gallons per year for showers alone. Showers and baths use half the hot water used so they consume large amounts of energy to heat that water. In the project the youth explore how to create a shower that recycles its water. They work with top scientists to understand the best way to filter, reheat, and pump the water. The youth will build models to test their ideas, then revise and revamp them to finally arrive at a water-recycling shower that uses the least amount of water and energy.

Project #2 - Solutions Radio:
Solution Radio empowers the world’s youth by enabling them to discover the answers to today’s problems. It is our contention that current media (newspapers, radio, TV, Internet, movies, etc.) keeps their audience constantly complaining about the problems with no intent of finding solutions. We know that complaining does not solve problems, yet that is what we are lead to do, while sinking in a sea of negativity.

To solve problems, we need to need to find solutions then take action by implementing those solutions to rid ourselves of the problems. Solutions Radio empowers the people of the world to collectively find solutions. On each show the host will ask the audience to put their thinking caps on and become part of an adventure of finding solutions to the many problems facing our society.

The radio program will be very effective in selecting a problem, having a team perform research, introducing specialists, and creating an informative and interesting discussion to assist the audience in arriving at solutions. While the show is being broadcast on the air locally, it is also being broadcast on the Internet. Solutions-Radio.com becomes the hosting site where it will display a complete visualization of the discussion, so people can electronically follow along and add suggestions along to those calling in.

This website is a key feature of Solutions Radio because the website will carry on the discussion indefinitely. Via the website, people from around the world can get involved, now or in the future, by listening to prior broadcasts, plus contribute their comments and solutions. MadeByKids believes that individually we may not have all the solutions, but collectively we do. We must first find the solutions so we can develop and action plan to solve them. Solutions Radio gets the show on the road.

Project #3 -Ceramic Cement:
Ceramic cements become an excellent construction material that can save our forests by eliminating wood in construction. It also replaces today’s cements while offering superior benefits, such as rapid setting times, recyclable, extreme fire resistance, waterproof, long lasting, and offer higher strengths. Ceramic cements are environmentally sound building materials that enable quality buildings to be built quickly, economically, and will last for centuries.

Project #3 -Accelerated Seed Sprouting
This project explores how we can grow extremely nutritious food at incredible rates. Nuts and seeds, like the egg their animal counterpart, are easy to store, nutrient-packed, whole foods that provide essential nutrition in a compact package. One of our mentors found that seeds sprout very rapidly when vibrated at a specific frequency. Here the youth create their own inexpensive sprouting units for use at home, in businesses, or for disasters to feed small or large populations of animals or humans.
