Sophie Waghorn

An Oxford University graduate (Honors), Sophie's skill portfolio now covers journalism, scientific/technical and script writing, PR and marketing, public speaking, film production, and personnel management. She is an award-winning writer and been internationally published with more than a hundred articles in magazines, newspapers and scientific journals. Sophie has also been responsible for growing and managing multi-million dollar budgets across Europe (at Adis International Ltd).

Sophie has developed her professional expertise through a variety of industries, including publishing, market research, film production, and advertising. She is Founder/Owner of Across The Board Communications, Inc., an integrated research and marketing company with national and international clients spanning health care, medical, sporting, technical and general interest arenas.

She also has a strong history in non profit and volunteer fields, and has received recommendations from her work with United Way (newsletters, training, newspaper columns etc. in Larimer County, CO), Meals on Wheels (grant writing), and Hearts and Horses (promotional activity, writing and training). She has also donated her time teaching for Junior Achievement, and working with Poudre Valley Hospital (Fort Collins, CO), Healing Path magazine and other community-oriented non profits. She now enjoys a fulfilling mentoring role with Big Brothers Big Sisters.

Sophie has an international background, and she has an inherent understanding of cultural diversity and the need for connecting communities, having lived in all 5 major continents in the world as a child and adult. She holds citizenships in England, Canada and New Zealand and currently resides in Denver as a permanent resident of the United States.
